The creation of ItsGoingOff was driven by the need to obtain cheap and accurate
forecasts and surf informatoin while on the move or away from a computer.
June 2000
We started developing our first web site - a subscription service, with surf forecasts and beach checks.
December 2000
The subscription service was almost ready to launch
January 2001
We postponed the launch to develop the capability to do Messages on
Demand, together with a credits-based system. We also added the wave
buoy data to the plan. We commissioned a company to set up the technical
side of things with a launch date of 1st May. The company messed us
about and failed to come up with the goods. So ItsGoingOff started again.
July 2001
Commissioned Pure Software Ltd, who have been brilliant. We added an
automated forecasting system, so that the forecasts will not be subject
to human error, or hangovers, and I can spend more time surfing.
March 2002
ItsGoingOff launch at the Student Nationals in Newquay.
Note that ItsGoingOff do not have any funding from Venture Capitalists,
so there's no-one to pull the plug on us if we don't make lots of money!
As long as the service makes enough money to cover basic costs we will
be here providing you with cheap and convenient surf information. We've
found ItsGoingOff's service useful already, for accurate forecasts on
surf trips and wave buoy data from our beds. We hope you enjoy it too!
